When is the deadline for submission?
August 24, 2012.
We encourage everyone to send in their submission before the deadline if possible to ensure a faster final selection process and a faster response to the artists.
What is the photographic exhibition about? What are the themes?
A fascinating look at the city through the lens of emerging local artists.
The final theme/s will be decided after we receive all the submissions.
Possible categories: Nature and Landscape, Architecture, People, City Life, Street Photography
It is up to you to offer us your perspective of what Montreal is and what it means to you.
What kind of media do you accept?
Photographs.
If my photographs are selected, how many will I exhibit?
The final decision will be taken after the deadline. It depends on how many final artists we select. We will contact all the finalists for further details. It could be 3-5 per artist or a series of photos per artist.
Do we send the JPEG and the work be printed? or do we print them ourselves?
For the submission, please send a few JPEG samples or a link to the album. If selected, you will be responsible for your own printing and framing.
Do you have any requirements regarding size?
Frame sizes: From 8.5 x 11 to 11 x 17 in
Smallest photo size allowed: 5 x 7 in
Do I have to frame the work?
Yes, the photos need to be framed (black standard frame preferred).
Is there a submission fee?
No.
Can we sell our works?
Yes. The buyers might have to wait until the end of the exhibition to receive their photographs.
We will contact all the selected artists for their list of prices - there will be some pricing limits.
Do you charge a commission?
10% commission from art sales go to CLC Montreal to cover expenses (fixing the wall, hooks, etc.)
Is it a vernissage also, or only an exhibition?
Vernissage on October 20, 2012 + Exhibition
Is there an admission fee to the vernissage?
No, it is a free event. Please invite all your family and friends!
How long does the exhibition last?
October 21 to January 11 , 2012 .
Is there a need for the artists to be present?
Yes, preferably. Don’t you want to attend your own vernissage? :)
Will our pictures be used elsewhere?
We might want to use some of the work to advertise the event. We will contact the artists after the selection process to obtain their consent for using their photographs.
How do I bring my works to the venue?
Those chosen will be contacted about how and when to drop off their works at CLC Montreal.
